Well, the eggs are due on Sunday/Monday but I have a horrible feeling they are not going to hatch. Today I lifted Big Sister off the nest to collect Lucilles eggs from the last few days. There was some brown mess dired on the eggs, at first I thought it was poop, but on closer inspection one of the eggs was missing, and there was a tiny piece of shell stuck to one of the eggs. Bigsister must have eaten or removed the broken egg. I’m worried that the eggy mess will contaminate, or suffocate the other eggs, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens in the next couple of days.
