Here’s some more photos of the vegi patch. The retic and weed matting is all finished on two of the beds, now we just have to buy the soil and we’re ready to start planting. We’ve used Josh Byrnes (he guy with the curly hair in Gardening Australia – Peter Cundall’s heir apparent) dripper system […]
CSI Lesumurdie
To the bugger that drove through our fence on Sunday night we have forensic evidence (your indicator) and we will get you…. actually we’ve got stuff all chance of finding you but I hope your car is really really really dented! SO THERE!
Midas Discovers Digging
Today Midas was meant to be learning ‘fetch’ in the front yard but decided to try learning digging instead. It’s a bit of a worry just how much he enjoyed it!
Vegi Patch Update
Nathan has been working like a trooper and the vegi patch is progressing nicely. All of the beds have been pinned and the the retic is almost finished.
Midas Arrives
We finally got to collect Midas from the breeder on Saturday morning. Joy gave us a massive list of instructions along with a huge bag of supplements and vitamins. It all seams a bit over the top, she doesn’t let her puppies drink plain water; you have to boil the water then add red cordial, […]
JellyBean the Mystery Cat
JellyBean (as in a Black Jelly Bean) appeared in our yard on Thursday. She’s unbelievably friendly and spent two days outside the house before I finally gave in a fed her yesterday. I think she’s either been dumped or gotten lost. I’ve put posters up at the IGA on the corner and the one at […]
Strawberry Update
The strawberries have been growing well, we’ve had a few strawberries from them but the millipedes and slugs have gotten to quite a few of them. The pink flowering one still hasn’t produced any fruit but that might be because it’s in the corner and gets the least sun.
Vegi Patch Update
The Vegi patch has progressed quite a bit. The grass has been dug out of the beds and we had 40 recycled railway sleepers delivered on Friday. They are 8ft instead of 7ft like we planned for so we’ve had to cut them down to fit. Dennis, Nathan and Adam spent the morning cutting them […]
Introducing Midas
We went to visit Midas on the weekend. He’s 6 weeks old now so we should be able to collect him in two weeks time.
Espalier Plan
Well, here are the plans for our espalier fence line. I’ve decided to put fruit trees along most of it except the road corner which will have vines growing on it as some of the existing trees are growing too close to the boundary for the espalier trees to fit properly.
